"What's his name child?"
"I shan't tell a stranger..."
"If I am a stranger why do you look at me with admiration?"
"I admire you regardless of strange beings or familiar ones."
The man softly stepping through the field of dandelions is my nature; seeds glide the stillness of wind sloping a valley of rice fields into the grass haven for deer. My heart lifted with a feathered propeller before my eyes; he must of landed inside the woman which writes.
"I am mad for him."
"You are mad for us all."
"I am madly taken asunder for him; the breath I breathe desires his lungs."
"You do not feel such for us; we contribute to your madness but certainly not your respiration."
She enchants a coo of laughter from the shyness of me; this blushes her cheeks as she thoughtfully proceeds with answered questions as to delve deeper into the object of admiration.
"Sir..."
"Yes..."
"If you breathe his breath will the dandelions form into flowers?"
"Such as you.....?"
"I am here thus I am the breath of your seed?"
"Yes..."
"If I tell you his name will you call him for us?"
"What if he comes?"
"We will bask in his presence."
"I want to watch him for a while."
"He is beauty for you to admire from a distance?"
"Yes..."
Final gasp of oxygen escapes through my confirmation as I gather myself together to stand from the tapestry of wolves which lays on the earthen ground.
"Shorty!"
"I must of been dreaming again."
"Was it that black and white field of dandelions again with the red flower that pops up out of nowhere?"
"Yeah..."
"Damn you know my memory is not so great but I got a feeling about that."
"What is it Mighty?"
"Well If I wasn't a damn mouse I would tell you that it has to do with somebody important to you."
"What kind of importance?"
"Romantic..."
"What makes you think that?"
"Just a feeling I get."
Mighty is the quickest pizza hustler in all the night's cater; his swing is six hits per an hour, most valuable player, Yankees would not be chowing down on Mozzarella sauce without him, the dough rolls to a flat one for this cat's cheerful toss of bona fide Sicilian Tiny.
Sorrow carries him this day off; grey orbs of excitement freezes into falling snow outside the glass square we usually ignore, she faces East.
"What do you know about them....."
"I know something that's for sure."
"Yeah..."
"Feels like they should be with you no matter what; somebody tried to tear you apart."
"What should I do about it?"
"Follow your heart..."
Thudding rhythm coordinates the bones I stand while kids on the street pound each other with snowballs; one smacks a police officer's gun onto the ground as it sounds through the window we glanced. My reaction is slower than traveling eardrums.
"What about yours?"
"I just got shot..."
Visitation is a ghostly precedent even for a cemetery reject; passion breaks through the surface of a lost spirit searching for home. Somehow I understand why this happened yet will not accept the unwritten law of circumstance and consequence.
"You will always be the one; everywhere I am, everywhere I go, anywhere I am lost, any moment I am here you will be the one."
Inside my chest is a ripening fruit ready to spoil if this mouth does not move.
"I exist within you. My essence desires you always. You will always be this..."
Tender frost attracts the beat of a warrior as the five fingers of his paw tingle all over the region of a body we both wait for the season to bloom; if harvest ever arrives we will be alive.
"Mighty I want you to know you are the best mouse I ever knew."
"You really mean that?"
"No other mice come before you. Not even those real cute ones at the store."
"Yeah they just run off with the food."
"You're going to be alright no matter what happens."
"You got to find the dandelions..."
"What if you're one of them?"
"Then I will be in the same field waiting for you."
I am sitting next to my twin; we hold each other's hands. Lights pulsate outside the black walls of clairvoyance, numb talkers discuss business members, doctors clean scalpels, we just sit there and listen. Time matters this clock; we got to figure out the numbers before the battery runs out.
